Welcome to Tracy's Graphics ©Frog Prince Tutorial. For this tut, you will need PSP7,
and my zip file which you can get here.
Put all of the selections enclosed into your selections folder (best to make a
new one within the sel folder, then you know where they all are). Of course,
if you prefer, you can make your own shapes using the vector tool. Put the tubes
in your tube folder within PSP.
This page is best viewed in Internet Explorer. Netscape covers the text with the
screenshots. :o(
1 Let's begin by opening a new image 400x400, transparent background 16 million
colours. Add a new layer and name it Head. Go to Selections>Load from Disk
and select the head.sel. Flood fill with light green #7DD97D.
2 Draw a rectangle selection around the head and click anywhere on the head. Go
to selections>modify>expand by 1. Add a new layer. Go to Effects>3D
Effects>Cut-out, and apply the following settings:

3 Add a new layer and repeat the cutout changing the -2 to 2. Turn off the
background layer and merge the remaining three layers. Rename this Head.
4 Make your background layer active and add a new layer and name it Body. Go to
Selections>Load from Disk and select the body.sel. Flood fill with light
green #7DD97D.Draw a rectangle selection around the head and click anywhere on
the head. Go to selections>modify>expand and expand by 1. Add a new layer. Go to
Effects>3D Effects>Cut-out, and apply the same two cutouts as for the
head using the same settings. Turn off your head and background layer. Merge
the three remaining layers and rename this layer Body. It should now look something like this:

5 Make your Body layer active and add a new layer and name it Front Legs. Go to
Selections>Load from Disk and select the Front Legs.sel. Flood fill with
light green #7DD97D.Draw a rectangle selection around the legs and click
anywhere on the legs. Go to selections>modify>expand by 1. Add a new
layer. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut-out, and apply the same two cutouts
as for the Head changing the opacity to 75 and the blur to 20. Switch off the
background, head & body layers, and merge your three layers that make up
the front legs. Rename this Front Legs. It should now look something like this:

6 Make your Background layer active and add a new layer and name it Back Legs. Go to
Selections>Load from Disk and select the Back Legs.sel. Flood fill with
light green #7DD97D.Draw a rectangle selection around the legs and click
anywhere on the legs. Go to selections>modify>expand by 1. Add a new
layer. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Cut-out, and apply the same two cutouts
as for the Front Legs using the same settings. Switch off the background,
head, front legs & body layers, and merge your three layers that make up
the back legs. Rename this Back Legs. It should now look something like this:

7 Make your Front Legs layer active and add a new layer and name it Cloak1. Go to
Selections>Load from Disk and select the Cloak1.sel. Flood fill with red #DE0808.
Draw a rectangle selection around the cloak and click
anywhere on the cloak. Apply an inner bevel (I used the pillow pre-set). He
should now look something like this:

8 Add a new layer and name it Cloak2. Load the Cloak2.sel and flood fill with
pale yellow/gold #E3E472. Apply an inner bevel of your choice, or if you have
it, you could use a gold pre-set from Blade Pro. He should now look something like this:

9 Add a new layer, name it Eyes. Use a bit of artistic license and add some
round froggy eyes! I made mine with Eye Candy, but you don't have to, you can
just use the features within PSP. (I've also included the eye I made in the
zip file, just in case you would like to use it).
10 Add a new layer and using that good old artistic license again, draw him a
mouth and some nostrils. You can use your draw tool, bezier curve if you are
comfortable using it. And do some round nostrils with your paintbrush. He
should now look something like this:

11 Now add a final layer call it Crown. Open up your tube tool and find the crown
tube I enclosed in the zip file. Place it on his head. I used the deformation
tool to squash it in slightly and rotate it so it was slipping over his eye,
but that's up to you! Okey dokey - you're all done. Save him as a tube if you
like for future use! (I made two, one as a plain frog, and the other as a frog
prince) One Frog Prince:
