Welcome to Tracy's Graphics Tapestry/Quilt Seamless Tile background (depending on which image you start with, sometimes it looks like a Tapestry, sometimes it looks like a Quilt, and sometimes it can look like a bit of both ;o)). This was inspired by the weekly challenge I set to my graphics group to encourage the use of filters. I hope you have fun trying it out!

For this tutorial, you will need Paint Shop Pro 7, 20/20, Funhouse Filters, Simple Filters and FM Tile Tools. This is best viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer as Netscape covers up the text with the screenshots!

1 Open up the image you wish to use, and make a copy (Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V). You can use the same one I did if you like. Click here to download it.

2 Resize the image to 200x200 (or select a 200x200 section of it to use for your background image).

3 Apply 20/20 Seamless tile to the image and save your changes.

4 Apply FunHouse's "Patchwork" Play around with the settings until you get one that works with your chosen image. For this background, I used a patch size of 41.

5 Apply Simple's Diamonds, then Pizzaslice:

6 Finally, apply FM Tile Tools' Blend Emboss. I used the default setting, but changed the intensity to 0.395. You can play around til you get something you like with your chosed image. (Different images need different intensities) Here's the finished tile:

Great for stationery where you can't find a background to go with the image you've found!

I hope you liked my short tut! Have fun playing around with different images and see what great backgrounds you can come up with! ;o)
